Options to washing, detangle and conditioning your curly hair
Wash the wig every two weeks, depending on the product build up you can just skip the shampoo and just condition it.
Option 1: Wash and detangle while wig is wet
You will first wet the hair with warm water, then apply the conditioner, then detangle. Do not detangle before you put the conditioner, put in the conditioner first this will make the hair soft and easy to detangle. When detangling with the conditioner on use your fingers first then a little bit wide tooth comb or curl brush working your way up from the tips to the roots. Then rinse off the conditioner and allow the wig to air dry. Never blow dry your wig always air dry it, preferably on a wig stand. Once dry depending on how your wig looks you can put on argan oil or serum
Option 2: Detangle hair while its still dry then wash
For this one, you will need a ponytail comb, use the back of the comb, the part that we like to use to open a line. Use that to detangle the hair without damaging the curl or pulling the hair, work your way from the tips to the roots. Then wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner then air dry it on a wig stand.
Option 3: On the go and wanting to achieve the curly wet look
Spray the hair with water while on your head, spray leave in conditioner then detangle a bit working your way from the tips to the roots with a curl brush, once done detangling seal the hair treatment with the mouse then you are ready to go.
Hair dryer: I know I said never blow dry but if you are pressed and running out of time you can use the hair dryer to dry the hair quicker preferably curl diffuser dryer, if using normal hair dryer don’t touch the curls while drying just let the air just blow through it.

This is what a curl diffuser looks like, you can buy the full set dryer with diffuser on Takealot (R399) or Clicks (R319) or Dischem about R325. The diffuser will gently dry the curls.
Daily routine:
If sleeping with the wig on, best to detangle before you sleep with the curl brush or wide tooth comb preferably the ponytail comb back, from tips to roots, then tie the hair back or pineapple bun depending on the length of your hair and wear your sleeping doek etc. In the morning while taking a shower wet the ends of your wig with water or if you not taking a shower pray the hair with water, detangle if need be then spray the John Frieda dream defining curl spray, scrunch the hair upwards this will help with the defining of the curl then take a tshirt or towel and scrunch the hair upwards this will help with the drying of the hair or dry using curly hair dryer diffuser. This also doesn’t have to be daily you can do this every other day it just depends on you.

Deep treatment

When your hair is like the before of this pic or pretty close to that.
Detangle hair while still dry working from the ends to the roots, wash with shampoo and condition the hair then put on the curly hair mask and leave in overnight or 2 days then rinse off. Allow to airdry, if hair looks dry put some oil. You can do this once a month.
On all these tips, HOW MANY TIMES must you do this? truly depends on how often you wear the wig or how well you takecare of it or your activities such as the gym, swimming etc. cause sometimes you might not need to do this pretty often. Our hair doesn't tangle much so there really isn't much need to detangle and wash or condition your hair everyday but its all up to you ladies :)
